I have a Whirlpool with a Aqua Glass Pentair pump and oval on off button control. We just bought the house and the breaker on the GFCI was tripped under the whirlpool, so I reset it and the whirlpool seemed to work. But now it wont turn on period. The GFCI outlet has power to it, but pressing the on/off button wont work now. The button came out of the whirlpool wall pretty easily, and it plugs into the pump via a RJ-6 pin phone connector.

Does anyone know how to troubleshoot the switch to see if it's the problem. Or, is there any other reset buttons on the pump.
Thanks in advance for the help. The pictures are not showing up. Sounds like maybe you have an ITT Marlow pump that has a circuit board on the back of it. What model number pump do you have? I believe what you tell us here is model number R150VS11-C If this is the case then what you have is a control with a knob on the top of it that controls the 6 speeds.

There is a knob on the top lip of your tub that you turn a 1/4 turn to turn this pump on/off. There is a small circuit board inside the box on top of the motor. This is likely the source of your problem.
Here is your biggest problem. That little circuit board is not made anymore. We have the e-switch but you will be better off changing out the pump (which you have to do anyway) with a new WOW pump with an air switch and change the switch on the top lip of the tub to an air button which will turn the pump on/off.

Does you tub have the air system installed? If so you may have the air system advanced function. There are two types of air system advanced functions. • With water level detector: A 30 second Drying cycle Will automatically start 20 minutes after the control has detected there is no more water remaining in the tub. • With out water level detector: A 30 second Drying cycle Will automatically start 20 minutes after the complete stop of the blower. If you have the first type this may be normal or the water level sensor may be dirty or faulty. If you have the second type it may be a control board problem..
